Learn from a restorer with 18 years experience. You will learn all facets of the trade including cleaning, dismantling, bonding, filling, modeling, mold making, smoothing, airbrushing and hand painting. You will learn to work with high quality, state of the art materials approved by museums and restoration schools throughout the world. You will learn special developed skills to help you become a professional restorer and will be prepared to open your own business.

In Studio Basic one-on-one

 

Get hands on experience while learning in a fully equipped studio with a professional of 18 years. Courses are one-on-one and scheduled on an as needed basis with a 4 week notice. A deposit of half is needed to secure your spot. Classes are 8 hours/day for 10 consecutive days. You can work on your own pieces or pieces can be provided during the course. This is a highly skilled professional curriculum geared to helping you start your own restoration business.

  • Day 3-Regluing and filling
  • Day 4-Hand modeling, mold building and attaching
  • Day 5-Smoothing filler
  • Day 6-Leveling and smoothing primer

  • Day 8-Detail Airbrushing and Techniques
  • Day 9-Hand painting and Gilding
  • Day 10-Promoting and review

Advanced classes are customized to the specific needs of the individual who has completed the basics but struggle with certain techniques. You will learn advanced bonding, modeling, airbrushing and hand painting techniques. The schedule will depend on the issues of each student.

Online Zoom Basic Restoration Class

This is an online Basic Porcelain and Ceramic Restoration Course through Zoom geared toward Individuals interested in starting their own business. With Zoom you will learn from a professional restorer of 18 years. Costly travel, hotel and food expenses are now a thing of the past. Angela’s 10 day one-on-one hands-on basic restoration course has been condensed down to 20 hours for your convenience. 

In these classes you will learn techniques from cleaning and dismantling to applying the finishing touches. Once you have completed the course you will have the skills and knowledge to confidently restore porcelain and ceramic vases, figurines, lamps etc. Pieces such as Old Paris, Meissen, Lladro, Sevres and so on. 

Each course will be approximately 2 hours at $100.00/course depending on the subject. The full curriculum will be approximately 10 courses. You will have the option to purchase the full curriculum or purchase each individual course. These are group classes of no more than 10. If you do not like the idea of a group class you will have the option to purchase private classes at $75.00/hr. You will have the ability to record each session rather than spend time taking notes and missing out on valuable techniques and these courses will be yours for as long as you need them.

  • Introduction to Porcelain and Ceramic Restoration-1 hour, free
  • Assessing and dismantling-2 hours
  • Removing old glue and cleaning-2 hour
  • Bonding and filling crack and chips-2hours
  • Mold Making and hand modeling-2 hours
  • Attaching modeled pieces-2 hours
  • Sanding filler and leveling-2 hours
  • Color matching and airbrushing-2 hours
  • More airbrushing techniques-2 hours 
  • Hand painting and crazing-2 hours
  • Gilding and reviewing-2 hours
  • And as a bonus for purchasing the full online course, I will teach the stain removal technique at no extra cost.
